Book - But I Want To
Join these baby turtles on their journey to the sea! On the way they experience distractions and dangers and have to learn what is safe and unsafe in their environment, and how rules are in place to keep them safe. They have to overcome the “want to do”; fun things in order to do what they “have to”; to get to the sea safely.
The idea for this story came from one of the authors being in a therapy session with a child, thinking “I wish I had a resource to help teach this lesson,” so we created one that can be used to help little ones learn this important lesson in the future!
This book is best used for:
- children ages 2 – 6
- children preparing to start the new school year
- parents needing supportive ways to talk about rules and safety
- parents needing supportive ways to talk about the difference between “want to”; and “have to”;
- therapists, counselors, and teachers in search of supportive material
