Meet Amanda Dare!
Amanda Dare is the founder and CEO of Woman-Owned Wallet (WOW), a movement built to put money in the wallets of women and create economic opportunities for woman-owned businesses. As an unapologetic financial feminist, Amanda has made it her mission to turn everyday purchases into acts of empowerment—proving that when women have financial power, they reinvest in their communities and create lasting change.

In August 2020, Amanda opened Woman-Owned Wallet, a feminist gift shop in Louisville’s NuLu district, giving women entrepreneurs a space, a voice, and a marketplace. Since then, WOW has funneled over $1 million directly into the wallets of women, proving that intentional shopping can create real economic impact. The brand has expanded beyond retail, offering a NuLu Walking Tour of 40+ women-owned businesses, a National Directory connecting shoppers with woman-led brands, and large-scale events like Galentine’s Bash (900+ attendees in 2025!) and Pinkmas.

Amanda also amplifies financial feminism through Woman-Owned Wallet: The Podcast, which was named one of the Top 100 Money Podcasts by Goodpods. Her leadership has earned her recognition as one of Louisville Business First’s Top 25 Enterprising Women, a Woman Business Owner of the Year nominee (NAWBO), and a Civitas Community Engagement Award nominee (Ohio River Valley LGBTQIA+ Chamber of Commerce).
