Founded in 2016 by Candice Crawford, For Lady's Sake is a Louisville-based nonprofit organization dedicated to combating period poverty by providing quality sanitary products to women and gender-diverse individuals in need. The organization's mission was inspired by a personal encounter Candice had with a woman experiencing homelessness who requested menstrual products, highlighting the often-overlooked necessity for accessible period care. In collaboration with her wife, Reina Kempt, who serves as the Executive Director, For Lady's Sake has established partnerships with local women-owned businesses and community organizations to distribute menstrual products and offer educational programs. Their initiatives, such as the Period Equity Expansion Program (PEEP) and PEP Rallies, aim to raise awareness, provide essential resources, and promote menstrual health equity throughout the Louisville Metro area and surrounding regions.
