This book is meant for use by parents and professionals as a resource to either start the conversation or navigate a situation when a child may need assistance or practice with identifying their emotions or the feelings of others.

This book can be used as a supplemental resource to be paired with other children’s books. It is intended as educational material to assist with identifying emotions of self and others, what to do when feeling a certain way, and how to help others when they’re feeling a certain way.

Note for the parents: This book includes activity sheets to use with your child to practice the coping skills for some of the emotions described in the book. We’ve also included an emotions identifying poster with emotions and faces presented to help your little one communicate when they are experiencing feelings.

About The Brand

Meet Amanda & Kim — The Heart Behind Little Loving Lessons

Amanda and Kim are the compassionate creators behind Little Loving Lessons, a collection of children’s books that tenderly teach kids about big feelings, tough topics, and how to navigate the world with empathy. With backgrounds in behavioral health and education, the duo brings real-world experience and deep care to every page they write.

Amanda, a behavioral therapist who works with children and families, saw firsthand the lack of gentle, accessible resources to explain complex emotions and social issues. Kim, a seasoned educator and storyteller, shared that vision—and together, they began creating the books they wished had existed sooner.

Their stories are more than just picture books—they’re tools for connection, understanding, and healing. Whether it’s navigating grief, celebrating differences, or managing anxiety, Amanda and Kim are helping grown-ups open important conversations with the little ones they love most.

Each book is a little loving lesson—written with heart, guided by expertise, and built to last long after storytime ends.
